Nia, longtime linux breaker

Hello! I’m Nia. New to AerynOS, but extremely happy to see the LLM policy in place, given recent stances taken across various Linux spaces.

I’ve been around Linux for a good decade or so, mainly floating around the Debian sphere as a user. Used Fedora, Arch, some niche, smaller distros, etc. I’ve been all over. Mostly stuck to Debian Stable as a daily driver. I have a love-hate relationship with Gnome, so I’ve stuck with that for the most part.

I’m pretty passionate about distro security. I used to work in IT for a good while and have dabbled in programming, so I’d love to contribute, especially around testing and anything in security/maintenance I can get my hands on. I haven’t done distro maintenance before, but it interests me quite a bit for this one, so I plan to look into it.

Welcome welcome! Nia.

We are also on https://aerynos.zulipchat.com/ if you’d like to chat with us directly :slightly_smiling_face: We got some initial stuff in place for security but do keep in mind it’s currently not a focus as the distro is in Alpha state. You can checkout the monitoring files in our recipe repository. That’s for both updates and reported security problems. We don’t have anything like OVAL files at the moment.
